Latest News :- The Enforcement Department today (Friday) raided the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office in the money laundering case registered against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family. According to informed sources, “The Enforcement Department, with the help of Central Paramilitary CRPF personnel, raided Muda office and some other places in Mysuru. However, there is no ban on raids on premises associated with the Chief Minister and his family.

The documents are scrutinized in the presence of enforcement officials at the Mysore office. Authorities may seize necessary documents as part of this investigation,” he said. A few weeks ago, the Enforcement Directorate had filed its Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in connection with the recent Lokayukta case (FIR).

Siddaramaiah is facing two cases by the Enforcement Directorate and Lokayukta alleging irregularities in the allocation of 14 seats to his wife through MUDHA. Mysore Urban Development Corporation had acquired 3.9 acres of land from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvati a few years ago. Following Parvathy's request, 14 housing plots were allotted to her in Vijay Nagar, Mysore last year. The dispute arose because the price of the land given in return was many times more than the price of the land taken from it.

After this, opposition parties BJP and Mazda alleged that corruption worth Rs 3000 crore has taken place in this case and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has misused his power to allocate expensive space. After this controversy escalated, the chief's wife Parvati handed over her allotted seat to Muda.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has denied the allegations, saying that he and his family have done nothing wrong and has said that opposition parties are afraid of them. He also told that this is the first political case against him. Meanwhile, after these controversies, Muda Chairman K. Marigowda resigned from his post on Wednesday citing his health.
