ENG vs AUS: ECB Announce Ashes 2027 Schedule

As the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) continues to recognize the identity of the new head coach of the England Test team, the Ashes 2027 schedule has been finalized and revealed.

As it happened in 2023, the men’s Ashes Test series and women’s multi-format series will run parallel next year in England.

The ECB announced the 2027 home season’s schedule, which includes a visit from Pakistan for five ODIs, a one-off Test against Bangladesh, the ICC World Test Championship final, the men’s Ashes, the women’s Ashes, eight white-ball games against New Zealand, and six limited-overs fixtures for the women’s team against Bangladesh.

The 2027 England home summer will kick off on May 15 with a five-ODI series against Pakistan, followed by a lone Test against Bangladesh from May 28 at Lord’s. The England teams are expected to be depleted in these games as some of their stars will be at the IPL.

When is the ICC WTC Final 2027?

The ICC WTC Final 2027 is scheduled to be played from June 9 at The Oval in London.

The meat of the English home summer next year will be the Ashes 2027 series. Australia have held the Ashes trophy since regaining it in the 2017/18 series.

The men’s Ashes will get underway on June 18 at Trent Bridge and will conclude at The Oval, with the fifth Test slated to begin on July 29. The second, third, and fourth Test will be hosted at Lord’s, Edgbaston, and Rose Bowl in Southampton, respectively.

Prior to the series, Australia are tentatively slated to play a warm-up game against the England Lions from June 7 in Manchester, but that is conditional on whether Australia manages to reach the ICC WTC Final.

Meanwhile, the women’s Ashes 2027 comprises a one-off Test match, to be played at Headingley from June 24; three T20Is; and three ODIs, the last of which will be played on July 19.

The women’s Ashes is decided through points. In 2023, both teams ended up tied with 8 points each, and Australia retained the Ashes. Similarly, the men’s Ashes was drawn 2-2, with Pat Cummins’ Australia retaining the Ashes urn.

The England men will conclude their home summer by hosting the Kiwis for three T20Is and five ODIs from September 7, while the women will host Bangladesh for three WT20Is and as many WODIs.
