England Announced Team for U-19 World Cup: Under-19 World Cup is going to start from January 15. Zimbabwe and Namibia have got the hosting of the Under-19 World Cup. All the teams are announcing their squads for this World Cup. The England team has been announced in this episode. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 15-member squad for the Men’s Under-19 World Cup. The command of the team has been handed over to Thomas Rev.
Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman Thomas Rew recently took part in the England Lions tour of Australia. The team also includes Nottinghamshire all-rounder Farhan Ahmed, who took over the captaincy in Rave’s absence during the 7-match Youth ODI series against West Indies in Grenada. Farhan Ahmed will continue to lead the team as vice-captain. Cestershire left-arm spinner Ali Farooq has been selected for the Young Lions for the first time.
What did coach Mike Yardy say?
Team head coach Mike Yardy said, ‘We have a balanced team, which has a core group of players. These players already have county experience and have built a great rapport while playing together in the Under 19s, which will come in handy during the tournament. I want the players to enjoy playing the World Cup in a beautiful country like Zimbabwe and seize the opportunity to compete against different countries and showcase their abilities. This is a great opportunity for the players we have selected. These players not only have a chance to wear the England jersey in the World Cup, but also try to do something special.”

16 teams are taking part in the World Cup
16 countries are participating in the Under 19 World Cup. The England team is in Group B, which includes the teams of Scotland, Zimbabwe and Pakistan. The England team will face Pakistan on 16 January, after which it will face Zimbabwe on 18 January. This team will face Scotland on 21 January. The top 3 teams from each group qualify for the ‘Super Six’ Will move forward in the stage. The title match will be played on 6 February at Harare Sports Club.
