England announces team for T20 World Cup 2026, Archer gets place despite injury

The England Cricket Board has announced its 15-member provisional team for the T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in India and Sri Lanka. Let us tell you, this tournament will run from 7 February to 8 March. Harry Brook has been made the captain, while fast bowler Joffra Archer has been kept in the team despite injury. This decision seems to have been taken keeping in mind the strength and experience of the team.

Archer is back

Joffra Archer was recently injured during the Ashes series, due to which he missed some matches. Still the selectors have expressed confidence in him. However, he will not play on the Sri Lanka tour and will directly join the team for the World Cup. If fitness is good then he can prove to be a big weapon for the team. Everyone knows his fast speed and experience.

Josh Tongue’s entry

A new name in the team is Josh Tong, who has been selected for white ball cricket for the first time. Tong has not played any limited overs match for England yet, but his performance in domestic cricket impressed everyone. He is a fast bowler and can be useful on subcontinent pitches. This selection shows England’s strategy of giving opportunities to young players.
