England head coach McCullum criticized after losing the Ashes series, said – I have nothing in my hands

Adelaide. In just 11 days, the England team lost another Ashes series to Australia. The first two Tests were over in a total of 6 days, while the third Test lasted till the last day. The England team was seen putting up a bit of a fight in the third Test, but lost the match and the series in Adelaide itself. Now head coach Brendon McCullum is being criticized for this. When asked whether he would remain the head coach of England or not? On this McCullum said that he would love to do so.

After losing the Ashes series, after the third Test match, he was asked whether he would leave the post of head coach or not? To this, Brendon McCullum said, “I don’t know. It’s not really in my hands to decide, right? I’ll just keep trying to work, try to learn the lessons that I haven’t got right yet, and make adjustments. These are questions for someone else, not for me. It’s a great job. It’s a lot of fun. You travel around the world with the boys and try to play some exciting cricket and try to achieve some things.”

England’s approach was quite different in Adelaide. Even though they lost, they were playing a more traditional style than baseball. To this, McCullum said, “The style has never been about the scoring rate. We never said that we will try to score at 5.5-6 per over. It is about allowing us to go into that mindset where we are clear, transparent and understand the situation and the moment, so that we can recognize the risk, where the game is and what is important.”

We have only progressed – McCullum
He further added, “For me, it is about getting the best out of the players and trying to get everything you can out of them. The rest of the decisions are up to other people. I think we have made some progress from the time I took over till today.”

When asked whether his players liked this method? To this, McCullum said, “I hope so. You have to ask them. Over the last few years, we have had a team that understands how we are adopting this style and we have built this team based on skill level and talent. That is not going to change as long as I am in this job.”
