England star leaves Pakistan midway from Test series to fly back home

The England team is now going to be without their pacer Olly Stone after the first Test against Pakistan in Multan.

According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, Stone is getting married this weekend and will be leaving the squad on Wednesday, October 9.
Though the exact date has not been confirmed for his wedding, it is highly unbelievable that Stine will return in time for the second Test. Reports suggest that England management is not opposed to Stone leaving Pakistan team fro his wedding.

Since he was not a part of latest batch of central contracts and arranged his wedding long before his call for the match, ECB has no objections for his departure. Before this tour, Stone had already discussed his situation with England’s managing director and coach- Rob Key and Brendon McCullum, where they agreed that he should return home to get married.

Before the Test series, Stone mentioned that their wedding was planned with expectations that he will be playing for Notts, adding that his wife was with him and expressed his commitment in making it work for her.

“We booked the wedding on the basis of me only playing for Notts at the time. Jess said she was happy to move the wedding and I was adamant on keeping it where it was if possible. For what she has given up and sacrificed for me, I thought the least I could do was to try and make it work,” said Stone.
