EPFO claim rejection: Reasons behind it and how to correct errors if any

New Delhi: From incomplete documents to Aadhaar not linked, there re several reasons why your EPF claim may be rejected by the EPFO. PF claims rejection have become widespread and created a controversy in rceent times. However, the EPFO shares some grounds on which claims may be rejected. PF subscribers can tale note of these to avoid errors in advance or rectify the same to resubmit an error-free application.

PF claim may be rejected owing to incomplete KYC such as linking of Aadhaar and PAN. If your Aadhaar is not seeded to your UAN, this may lead to rejection of claims. Any mismatch in personal details such as name and date of birth may lead to claim rejection.

Another reason could be a mismatch in the UAN between the form and the records with EPFO. Your date of joining and leaving an organisation should match the EPFO’s records or it may lead to claim rejection. Ensure that your employer details are updated with organisation name and code in place.

Ensure that your seeded bank account details are up to date and in order with the correct account number, IFSC code and branch name among other details. Ensure that your claim submission form is error-free. It is important to make sure that the EPS is updated or this may lead to a failure in the transfer of funds.

Your monthly salary must be up to Rs 15,000 to ensure your eligibility for EPS. Another reason for claim rejection may be a failure to obtain annexure K, which ensures the transfer of PF to unexempted status from exempted status.
