EPFO: Those changing jobs will get big relief, will be able to transfer PF account themselves

New Delhi: The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made an important reform to make the PF transfer process simpler and faster, which will provide relief to those changing jobs. Under this change, now employees will be able to easily transfer their PF account and there will be no need to take help from the old or new employer for this. This reform will make the transfer process with the help of Aadhaar and other documents more convenient.

Accounts linked to UAN

EPFO has now simplified the process for employees who have a linked Universal Account Number (UAN) and Aadhaar card. There will no longer be employer intervention for UAN linked accounts issued after October 1, 2017. This will give employees a chance to directly use the EPFO portal for their PF transfer. This process will not only increase transparency but also reduce dependence on employers. However, there are certain conditions in the transfer process for accounts with UANs issued before October 1, 2017. The condition of matching of name, date of birth and gender has been kept in these accounts, so that the transfer can be done properly.

How to link Aadhar card

Moreover, EPFO members can easily link their Aadhaar with their EPF account. For this, they will have to go to the e-seva portal and log in with UAN and password and check the option for Aadhaar in the KYC section. After this, after entering the Aadhaar number and name, one will have to go through the verification process, after which the Aadhaar will be successfully linked to the EPF account. This reform will prove to be extremely beneficial for those changing jobs, because now they will not have to face delays in the transfer process.
