Establish a National Men’s Commission; Big demand for BJP MP after Ketan massacre

New Delhi : After the famous Ketan Aggarwal murder in Pune, a new discussion has started in the country about the rights of men and giving them legal protection. Against this backdrop, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP and founder of Lovely Professional University, Ashok Kumar Mittal, has strongly demanded the establishment of a ‘National Men’s Commission’ in the country. Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary have been arrested in connection with the murder of Ketan Aggarwal. This case has created a lot of excitement across the country.

The issue has already been raised

On Saturday, MP Ashok Mittal shared a video of Rajya Sabha proceedings in December 2025 on social media platform X. In this, he reminded that he demanded the establishment of a National Commission for Men through a private member’s bill called ‘National Commission for Men Bill’. Ashok Kumar Mittal was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab.

What has Mittal said?

Mittal said in his post that the Ketan Aggarwal case in Pune is very shocking. Ketan and his family should be investigated fairly, comprehensively and without any discrimination, and justice should be served. Every victim should have equal legal protection, assistance and justice. It is clear from the Ketan case that men can also be victims of abuse. Therefore, they need institutional help, legal protection and an independent forum to hear their grievances.

What is a private bill?

A bill introduced in parliament by members of parliament other than the government is called a private member’s bill. The chances of such bills becoming law are very low. Since independence, only 14 private member’s bills have become law till date, and not a single private member’s bill has been passed in Parliament since 1970.
