Eternal: Big change in the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit…Deepinder Goyal will leave the post of CEO, command will be handed over to him.

Delhi. Eternal, which operates Zomato and Blinkit, reported a 72.88 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 102 crore for the December quarter of FY 2025-26. The company had earned a profit of Rs 59 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. The company’s Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Deepinder Goyal as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as part of a major leadership change.

His resignation will be effective from February 1. The Board has recommended his appointment as Vice Chairman and Director on the Board for a tenure of five years, which will be effective after the approval of the shareholders. According to the information given to the stock exchange, the board has approved the appointment of Albinder Singh Dhindsa, the current CEO of Blinkit, as the new CEO of ‘Eternal’ from February 1.

Eternal’s operating revenue increased to Rs 16,315 crore during the third quarter from Rs 5,405 crore in the same period last fiscal. However, during this period the total expenses of the company also increased to Rs 16,493 crore, which was Rs 5,533 crore a year ago. In a letter to shareholders, Goyal shared his reasons for stepping down.

He said, “For some time now, I have been inclined towards some new ideas, which have more scope for risk and experimentation. It is better to work on such ideas outside the scope of a public company like Eternal.” He explained that Eternal needs to remain focused and disciplined on its current business. This change will help the company stay focused on their goals and give them the opportunity to work on ideas that do not fit Eternal’s business risk.
