The electric model of Tata Safari is likely to hit the Indian market by Diwali this year. Tata Motors This car coming from will be the biggest and premium electric car ever. Interestingly, this will be Tata’s first electric SUV with 3-row seating. Currently, the Tata Harrier EV is considered to be Tata’s biggest electric car.

Battery and power

The Safari EV is available in two powerful battery options, 65 kWh and 75 kWh. Along with the RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) motor, it can also be offered with a 4×4 (AWD) option. So this SUV can be driven easily even on bad roads or hilly areas.

Range and comfortable ride

The Safari EV is expected to offer a good long range once fully charged. The 75kWh RWD version of the Harrier EV is claimed by ARAI to have a range of 627 km, while the AWD version has a range of 622 km. However, the range of the Safari may be slightly less than that of the Harrier EV as it is slightly larger in size. Apart from this, the SUV is likely to support DC fast charging up to 100kW.

Design and interior

Like other Tata electric cars, the Safari EV will also see some design changes. It gets a closed grille, new bumpers, EV-specific logos and aerodynamic alloy wheels. However, the overall dimensions of the car are likely to remain the same as the diesel Safari. Tata’s new TiDAL system will be used in the interior.

When can it be launched?

Production of the Safari EV is likely to start by August 2026, and the car could be launched in the market by the festive season i.e. Diwali. According to Autocar India, the development of the Safari EV has been accelerated due to the use of parts from the Harrier EV. This will be the second major update to the Safari line-up in 2026.

Features

The Safari EV can offer many of the same features as the Harrier EV. Different driving modes will be available for normal, snow, mud, sand and rocky roads to drive on different roads. Apart from this, the suspension system has been further improved and the ride will be more comfortable even on bad roads.
