Eva Mendes is ready to make a comeback, but with a precondition of collaborating with Ryan Gosling

The fans are eagerly waiting for Eva Mendes to make a comeback to the big screen however the condition made by the actor is to collaborate with her husband, Ryan Gosling. After collaborating with the Barbie star on the 2012 crime/thriller The Place Beyond the Pines, Mendes left Hollywood. She has discussed her choice to put her personal life first and raise her daughters, Esmeralda Amada, age 10, and Amada Lee, age 8.

When asked whether leaving acting was difficult in a recent interview with The Sunday Times, she said, “I was never in love with acting. I don’t mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a great actress. I had my moments when I worked with really great people.”

She acknowledges that acting wasn’t her forte, but she is proud of some of her performances, particularly the ones in which she worked with Ryan Gosling. “He gets something out of me that’s never been accessible before,” Mendes quipped.

The Ghost Rider actress talked candidly about her choice to leave the glamour and glitz of Hollywood in an interview with Good Morning America. “It was such a high off my career to work with him [Gosling] and what we created together that I was like, ‘This is a good time to, like, Seinfeld it,’” she stated.

The author of the children’s book also thought the roles that were being given to her at the time were quite stereotyped, which made her less interested.

The pair have previously worked together on Drunk History Christmas (2011) and Lost River (2014), the Oscar-nominated actor’s directorial debut, in addition to The Place Beyond the Pines.

She has launched several businesses since becoming a mother to two girls, including Skura Style, a cleaning company. She recently published her first children’s book, Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries, in partnership with the eyeglasses company Look Optic.
