Even after a long meeting, the tangle did not end, the Iran-US peace talks broke down! Will the war start again?
The meeting lasted for 21 hours. But still the tangle did not end. Iran-US peace talks collapsed. This was announced by US Vice President JD Vance early Sunday morning Indian time. Then the question arises, is the war going to start again?
After about three rounds of talks, Vance held a press conference in Islamabad. There, he said, “Iran has not agreed to the conditions that we gave. President Donald Trump told us that we should try to reach an agreement in good faith. But unfortunately, there has been no progress. We are coming back.” He added, “Iran’s nuclear program and enrichment facilities have already been destroyed. But they have not given assurances that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons in the future.” The US vice president did not say anything clearly about whether there will be any talks with Iran again in the coming days. On the other hand, the representatives of the two sides will exchange documents. Tehran also said that they have disagreements with America on some issues. However, Iran claims that the two sides will hold talks again in the coming days.
After nearly 40 days of war, Iran-US agreed to a 2-week ceasefire. The two countries said that they will try to make the ceasefire permanent within this period. A delegation of 70 people reached Islamabad to attend the peace meeting on Saturday. It was led by the country’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, and the speaker of Iran’s parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. On the other hand, the US aircraft also landed in Islamabad early Saturday morning. He was in the American delegation US Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Wittkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Then the discussion begins.
