Everest: New record on Mount Everest, 274 people including 3 Indians climbed it this year

Kathmandu. Three Indians were also among the 274 climbers from Nepal who successfully climbed Mount Everest, setting a new record for the highest number of climbs in a single day. All 274 climbers reached the 8,848.86 meter high peak on Wednesday. Rishi Ram Bhandari, general secretary of the Expedition Operators Association in Nepal, said that these climbers also included 150 Nepalese Sherpas, who conquered the summit in a single day.

The three Indian climbers included in the world record team are Tulsi Reddy Palpunuri, Sandeep Are and Ajay Pal Singh Dhaliwal. He told that this is a new record made by those who climbed Everest this spring. He also informed that 502 climbers have received permission to climb Everest in the spring of 2026. Earlier, in May 2019, 223 climbers from Nepal had reached the summit in a single day.

On Thursday, India’s Laxmikant Mandal also conquered the world’s highest peak. According to expedition organizer Pioneer Adventure Pvt Ltd, Mandal climbed Everest along with eight others, including six Nepalese Sherpas. The other new record set this spring was made by Nepal’s Kami Rita Sherpa, who broke her own record by climbing the summit for the 32nd time. Similarly, Nepal’s Lhakpa Sherpa became the first woman to climb Mount Everest for a record 11th time this season.
