The most iconic song of this film ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra Suhana Lagta Hai’ is still the first choice for weddings. But very few people know that during the recording of this song, world famous Qawwal Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had to struggle a lot to sing a particular line. Composer Nadeem-Shravan duo has revealed the interesting struggle hidden behind this song. When this line became a challenge for Nusrat Sahab. The film’s composer Nadeem Saifi told in an interview that when Nusrat Sahab was recording this song, there was an aalaap and a high-pitched line at the end of the song which he was repeating again and again. Veteran singers like Nusrat Sahab, who could sing non-stop for hours, were feeling a little uneasy in catching a particular pitch that day. According to Nadeem, he was stopping again and again and saying, “Son, this line sounds a little different in the texture of my voice.” That unbreakable trust of Nadeem-Shravan and the magic of Nusrat Sahab. Nadeem told that he requested Nusrat Sahab not to accept defeat. He said, “Khan sahib, the pain in your voice is the soul of this song.” After this, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan took a break for a few minutes, drank some water and then when she took over the microphone again, she sang that line in such a way that everyone present in the studio had tears in their eyes. He breathed his soul into that song, which we listen to even today. Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty’s chemistry got musical support. This song took the triangular love story of Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Sunil Shetty in the film ‘Dhadkan’ to a different height. When this song appears in the film, it proves to be the turning point of the entire story. Interestingly, the recording of this song was done long before the release of the film, and when the film was released after the death of Nusrat Sahab, this song became a big tribute to him.
