Ex-Australia skipper’s concerning take on Mohammed Shami’s absence from Border-Gavaskar series
Ahead of the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar series, former Australia captain Tim Paine gave his opinion on pacer Mohammed Shami missing the series
“Shami is going to be a huge difference, Bumrah, there is so much on his shoulders. If he gets hurt, then it’s curtains for me,” Paine said while talking on The Grade Cricketer podcast.
Last week, Shami was not included in the squad as India announced their team for the upcoming 5-match Test series in Australia.
Paine was the captain of the side that got defeated the last time that India toured Australia for the 4-match Border-Gavaskar series where the Men in Blue ended up triumphing by 2-1.
The most awaited Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia will begin on November 22, with the first Test at Perth.
The second Test, scheduled for December 6 to 10 at Adelaide Oval, will feature the exciting day-night format under the stadium’s lights. After that, fans will turn their attention to The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test, which will be held from December 14 to 18.
The Boxing Day Test will be played in Melbourne from December 26 to 30 before the Men in Blue will travel to Sydney for the final Test of the series from January 3 to 7.
