The startup aims to reimagine wealth management for the AI-first era, targeting affluent customers
Former Share.Market CEO Ujjwal Jain and ex-Microsoft researcher Debopam Bhattacharjee have teamed up to launch a new fintech venture Atyx.AI.
Incorporated in June 2026, Atyx.AI is building an AI platform in the wealth management space. It is targeting affluent customers.
The Bengaluru-based bootstrapped startup takes its name from the Sanskrit word ‘ati’ meaning ‘beyond’, signalling the startup’s goal to break barriers and reimagine the wealth management industry using AI.
“I’ve spent more than 15 years building financial infrastructure from every angle — globally at hedge funds, domestically across institutional, retail, and now private wealth. Atyx is the one I’m most excited about, because for the first time, AI has actually caught up to what private wealth in India needs,” Jain told Inc42.
While Jain declined to share more details about the nature of the product given its nascent stage, he noted, “This industry for a long time has been built around the distribution of products. There’s a massive opportunity to build in this space from the ground up for an AI-first world.”
Jain, a self-described serial entrepreneur, earlier founded WealthDesk in 2016, an app allowing users to invest in diversified baskets of stocks and ETFs.
He also founded OpenQ (Quantech Capital), an investment platform which powered the quantitative research infrastructure layer for WealthDesk.
Both startups were acquired by Walmart-backed PhonePe in 2022, following which Jain came on board to lead PhonePe’s stock broking app Share.Market. He later stepped away from his role earlier this year.
CTO and cofounder Bhattacharjee left his role as a senior researcher at Microsoft after nearly five years to start up Atyx.AI with Jain, a college batchmate from Jadavpur University. He holds a PhD in computer systems from ETH Zurich.
