Excellent opportunity for youth in Railways: Recruitment for 1.20 lakh posts, application process also started

New Delhi, 5 December. An excellent opportunity has emerged in Railways for the youth who are looking for government jobs. In this sequence, like previous years, Indian Railways has recruited 1 lakh 20 thousand 579 posts for the year 2024-25, for which the application process has also started.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information in Parliament

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told in Parliament during the winter session that the recruitment process for these posts has started. Every year lakhs of jobs are created in Railways. In this sequence, the Railway Minister has presented this year’s accounts in the Parliament. He said that in the last 11 years, Railways has given 5.08 lakh jobs to the youth.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that 10 notifications were issued for jobs in the year 2024. During this period, the recruitment process for 91,116 posts is going on. At the same time, seven notifications were issued for the year 2025, through which jobs will be given on 38,463 posts. Overall, the recruitment process is going on for 1 lakh 20 thousand 579 vacancies.

Recruitment is being done on these posts

The posts for which the recruitment process is going on include posts like Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician, Sub-Inspector, Constable, Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant, Paramedical Staff, NTPC, Ministerial and Isolated Category and Level One i.e. Track Maintainer and Assistant in RPF.

How much has the job in Railways increased from before?,

The Railway Minister further said that between 2004 and 2014, Railways provided jobs to four lakh people. However, from 2014 to 2025 this figure reached 5.08 lakh. He also mentioned that the level of jobs has increased with the arrival of the new government. He said that Railways has released the recruitment calendar, which will make this process easier.
