In fact, a special meeting was held between Prime Minister Modi and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on Monday. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi openly commented on the growing craze for Korean songs and serials in India, noted the strengthening of cultural ties between the two countries, and made a major announcement to mark the same.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at a joint press conference, “Today, K-Pop and K-Drama are becoming very popular in every corner of India. Similarly, Indian films and culture are also widely appreciated in Korea.” To strengthen this friendship between the two countries, they announced that the “India-South Korea Friendship Festival” will be held in 2028.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi also referred to the centuries-old story of King Kim Suro of Korea and Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya. He said, “Friends, cultural ties between India and Korea date back thousands of years. The story of Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya and King Kim Suro of Korea 2000 years ago is our shared heritage.”
