Mohammad Yunus Ever since sitting on the chair, we have been watching the massacre of innocents and people dying and burning in fire in the country. There is no trace of the army and police. Awami League, which used to be a very strong political party in Bangladesh, has been banned. Meaning, in the absence of Awami League in the general elections to be held in Bangladesh in February 2026, the government of fundamentalists is certain to be formed there.

Bangladesh started burning due to the death of Sharif Usman Bin Hadi

The remaining gap was completed on December 18, 2025, when Sharif Usman bin Hadi alias Usman Hadi, a staunch opponent of Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh and youth extremist leader who led the student movement to force Hasina to leave Bangladesh, died during treatment in Singapore. As soon as the news of Hadi’s death spread, Bangladesh started burning once again. Angered by this, the extremists destroyed famous media houses of their country by setting them on fire.

In which direction is Bangladesh going?

By killing a Hindu youth and hanging him head-on, the extremists proved that today’s Bangladesh is not at all in the interest of the Hindus born in India and living here. In such a situation, the question arises that in which direction is India’s neighboring country Bangladesh, which has been blazing intermittently for the last one year? What will be the future impact of a weakening or ruining Bangladesh on India? To get proper answers to all these important questions, Editor Crime Investigation of ‘Read Hindi’ spoke exclusively to retired Lieutenant Colonel Jasinder Singh Sodhi (Lt. Colonel JS Sodhi) of the Indian Army on 19 December 2025.

“India should remove this misconception that it had created Bangladesh.”

Lieutenant Colonel Sodhi has retired from the Engineer Corps of the Indian Army. He is an alumnus of NDA Khadakwasla and IIT Kanpur. Apart from M.Tech in Structural Engineering, JS Sodhi has also done MBA and LLB. During a long special conversation, in response to a question from Read Hindi, Jasinder Singh Sodhi said, “Today it is happening in Bangladesh. India may have to suffer the consequences of this in the future. Although India is keeping a close watch on the current worsening conditions of Bangladesh. But India is very late in keeping an eye. Now I would like to say that India should remove this misconception that it had created Bangladesh by cutting off East Pakistan 54 years ago.”

Sodhi said that in today’s changed scenario, Bangladesh is now becoming the biggest betrayer of India. India still has 5 years time to develop the strength within itself to deal with these three (Pak, China and Bangladesh) before Pakistan and China move towards India by placing their feet on the shoulders of Bangladesh.

“We should have always viewed Bangladesh with suspicion”

Former Lieutenant Colonel JS Sodhi says, “We should have always looked at Bangladesh with suspicion… If today Bangladesh would not have been looking at India with a slant and China-Pakistan with greedy eyes. India has always been under the misconception that when we have created Bangladesh by cutting off Pakistan, then how will it (Bangladesh) be able to go against India? This misunderstanding of India has today become the basis of China and Bangladesh against India. “It has become the biggest weapon of Pakistan.”

‘One should never underestimate the enemy’

JS Sodhi said that one should never underestimate the enemy. From the point of view of strategic, foreign, diplomatic and military security, no country is ever an enemy or a friend of anyone. Now Bangladesh is also proving the same by leaning towards China and Pakistan… and we (India) are still chanting the same tune that when we were the ones who created the rise of Bangladesh, then how can Bangladesh be separated from India? Whereas this has happened. Today’s Bangladesh has become the enemy of India and friend of Pakistan and China. No matter what the reasons behind it may be. Whether China has lured Bangladesh with money or has lured it to provide military equipment (weapons, jet ammunition etc.).

“Bangladesh no longer belongs to India, but to extremists and fundamentalists”

Former Lieutenant Colonel said, “Today’s situation and the changed attitude of Bangladesh are enough to prove that Bangladesh no longer belongs to India, but to the extremists and fanatics. It would be difficult and hasty to say what will happen next. Yes, it is certain that the way Bangladesh is burning now. There is no doubt that the flames of fire in Bangladesh and the scary smoke rising from it are hovering over the clouds of India too, Because at present there is no lead line leader in Bangladesh who is ashamed of the old or innate relations between India and Bangladesh.

‘It would be sheer dishonesty to expect sweetness in the ruined relations between India and Bangladesh.’

JS Sodhi said that it would be sheer dishonesty to expect sweetness in the ruined relations between India and Bangladesh from the makeshift government of a country whose interim political advisor is like Mohammad Yunus… because at this moment Bangladesh is playing into the hands of the anti-India (China and Pakistan) and not by following its own mind. Temporary countries like Pakistan-Bangladesh and always living on the bread and butter of others can never be well-wishers of a big democratic country like India. It is not just me who is saying this. Today’s India and its rulers and our agencies also understand this.
