Expansion of health services and better treatment facilities reaching every village…
Chhattisgarh:- Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, health services are being expanded rapidly in Vananchal and Scheduled Tribe dominated Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. The objective is to provide timely, accessible and quality treatment to every person living in remote and inaccessible areas. In this direction, health infrastructure and emergency services are being continuously strengthened in the district through planned efforts.
To strengthen emergency medical services, the district has received 23 new ambulances, including 3 Advanced Life Support (ALS) and 20 Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, on 1 April 2026. This is providing great convenience in taking serious patients to the hospital on time.
“Chief Minister Health Mitan Helpline”, started on the instructions of the Chief Minister, has emerged as a reliable system for the common people. Taking prompt action on the applications received at the CM Camp Office, Bagiya, treatment, medicines, hospitalization, referral and ambulance facilities are provided to the patients through the helpline. In the last 26 months, about 3,570 patients have benefited from this service. The specialty of the helpline is that response is given within 5 minutes of call and 1 to 3 follow ups are ensured in each case. Also, the facility of ambulance tracking link has increased both transparency and convenience.
Many needy people have got timely relief from this helpline. Bajrang Ram, a resident of Korvabahari of village Goriya, told that his mother Santra Bai was facing financial problems for cataract operation, but within a few minutes of applying, she got help and she was successfully treated. Similarly, 80 year old disabled Lunwar Sai of village Saraipani of Bagicha development block was also provided prompt treatment.
Health infrastructure is also being strengthened rapidly in the district. The construction work of a 50 bedded mother-child hospital at a cost of approximately Rs 8 crore 77 lakh is in progress in Ginabahar of Kunkuri development block. Apart from this, establishment of Medical College, Naturopathy and Physiotherapy Centre, Government Nursing College and Physiotherapy College is also proposed. Construction of new health centers in rural areas will further improve access to health services.
“Pahari Korwa Helpdesk” has been set up at Bagicha Community Health Center to connect specific backward tribe communities with health services. Trained tribal women who can communicate in the local language are helping the patients here. Through this initiative, so far OPD services have been provided to more than 1450 patients, IPD services to more than 900 and safe institutional deliveries to more than 140. Along with this, regular health camps are also being organized in remote areas through mobile medical units.
Thus, through the expansion of health services and innovative initiatives in Jashpur district, better, quick and accessible medical care is being provided to the common people, which is leading to positive changes in the quality of life of the people.
