Explosion in Ahmedabad firecracker factory, 8 killed, factory was running even after license was cancelled.

New Delhi: Eight people have died in a massive explosion at a firecracker factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Saturday, while more than 10 people are said to be injured. After the accident, there was chaos in the area and the relief team reached the spot and pulled out the people trapped under the debris. Initial investigation has revealed that the license of the factory had already been cancelled, but despite this, illegal production was going on there.

The injured were admitted to the hospital

According to the information, this explosion took place in a firecracker unit operating in an open complex located on the banks of Ramol-Gatrad Road canal. Initially two deaths were reported, but as the rescue operation progressed the death toll increased to eight. Let us tell you, the workers injured in the accident were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals, where their treatment is going on.

The factory was running illegally

Police have identified the factory operator as Mehul Dodiya. Investigating officials say that the license of the factory had already been cancelled, but the manufacturing of firecrackers continued there ignoring the rules. This aspect has been made an important part of the investigation. However, after the accident, the fire brigade personnel have brought the fire under control and the situation is currently under control.

Investigation continues regarding the matter

Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and other investigating agencies have reached the spot, which are investigating the cause of the explosion and violation of safety standards. Police said that a case will be registered against the factory operator under sections related to culpable homicide and the Explosives Act. Officials say that after the completion of the investigation, strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for the accident.
