Since this incident took place during the festive season, security agencies have expressed concern about it. The Special Cell of Delhi Police is also investigating this case from the terrorist angle. Alert has been issued to nearby police stations and patrolling in the markets has been increased. The police have appealed to the people that if they see any suspicious object, they should immediately inform the police.

Hearing the sound of the explosion, local people came out of their homes and shops. Sumit, who runs a spectacles shop near the incident site, said that the glass windows of his shop were broken and all the goods inside the shop fell on the ground. He told that the sound of the explosion was very loud. Local resident Rakesh Gupta said that he thought that an LPG cylinder had exploded nearby, but later it was found out that it was some other explosion due to which the glasses of many shops were broken.

The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Delhi Police is investigating this matter, keeping in mind the possibility of a terrorist attack.
