Extortion demanded from BJP leader in the name of Aman Sahu gang, Ranchi police engaged in investigation.
Ranchi: A case of extortion and death threats to a BJP state spokesperson and a businessman through WhatsApp has come to light in the Pundag police station area. The victim businessman has submitted a written complaint in this regard to the police station in-charge, demanding registration of an FIR and security. According to the complaint, a WhatsApp message was sent by an unknown person on the official mobile number of the businessman’s company. Police have started investigating this case of extortion.

The sender of the message identified himself as Saurabh Singh and demanded so-called ‘protection money’, claiming to be associated with the notorious Aman Sahu gang. The message also threatened to face dire consequences and even kill if the demand was not met. The victim says that he is a resident of Ranchi and is the managing director of a private construction company as well as runs a business group.

He also said that he has been associated with social and public responsibilities in the past and has been raising his voice against the activities of criminal gangs on various platforms.
For this reason he fears that the threat may be real and serious. The businessman has requested the police to take immediate action by registering an FIR under relevant sections against the accused person or persons. He has also requested to ensure the safety of himself, his family and employees.
