Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Brezza: 5 Big Changes To Look Forward To

Maruti Suzuki – India’s largest car manufacturer has several models spread across various segments. Like most brands, even Maruti has a sub-4-meter SUV, the Brezza, in the market. It is one of the popular models in the segment, and the current version of the SUV was launched in the market a couple of years ago.

With rising competition, Maruti has finally decided to make some changes to the Brezza and launch an updated version. We have been seeing videos and images of the Brezza undergoing tests on our roads multiple times. Here are 5 things we are expecting to see in the updated Maruti Brezza this year.

Exterior

From the pictures that are currently available online, it doesn’t look like Maruti will be making too many changes to the existing design. We expect to see minor changes to the bumper and front grille to give it a fresh look.

The gloss black nose on the current one is expected to be replaced with a dark chrome unit. Similarly, we expect the rear bumper to receive minor revisions. We may also see a new alloy wheel design similar to the one seen on Victoris. One more thing we noticed in the test mules is that the front bumper had parking sensors, which are not there in the current version.

Interior

The layout of the cabin is expected to be more or less the same, but there is a slight possibility that we might see a design change similar to the one seen on Victoris. The 9-inch touchscreen unit seen on the current Brezza will be replaced with a larger 10.1-inch unit, which will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It would also get other features like a 360-degree camera and seat ventilation. The higher variants would continue to offer features like an electric sunroof.

Underbody CNG Tank

Maruti Suzuki was one of the first car brands to offer factory-fitted CNG in cars. They call it S-CNG, and they probably have one of the largest lineups of CNG vehicles in the market. With the 2026 Brezza, Maruti will offer the same underbody CNG technology that was seen in the Victoris.

This underbody CNG tank is actually a revolutionary technology in CNG vehicles, as it would give car owners the convenience of CNG without compromising boot space.

6-speed MT

Maruti Suzuki has been offering the Brezza with a 5-speed manual gearbox for a very long time. Maruti is making one change at a time. With the diesel Brezza, we used to get manual and AMT gearboxes. When the diesel was discontinued, we got a 4-speed automatic. In the last update, this issue was rectified, and Maruti offered a 6-speed automatic transmission. Now, with the upcoming 2026 version, Maruti will be replacing the old 5-speed transmission with a 6-speed manual unit.

1.0 Boosterjet

Another change that is expected to be seen in the Maruti Brezza with its new update is the engine. There are reports that Maruti will be replacing the existing 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine from the Fronx. If Maruti offers this engine in a retuned state, it would actually help in increasing Brezza’s numbers. It is also possible that Maruti might offer this turbo engine in select variants to keep the price in check.
