Fact Check: Did Cristiano Ronaldo Gift His Barber Lamborghini For Loyalty? Truth Behind Viral Claim
5
It has been almost a year since the video of Cristiano Ronaldo claiming to gift his loyal barber a $300,000 Lamborghini first went viral on social media, and once again, it is resurfacing across feeds from TikTok to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) But is there any truth behind those claims? Let’s find out.
One of the viral tweets on X claims that Cristiano Ronaldo bought a brand-new Lamborghini for his barber, who has been cutting his hair for 15 years. “He (The barber) always charged me (Ronaldo) 50 euros, and even after I became famous, he never asked for more,” the tweet reads. This comes as a translation of a Portuguese version and from the viral video in which Ronaldo can be seen in the salon getting a haircut and saying this in a podcast-type video.
“Last week, he told me his car had broken down and he’d started taking the bus to work. I didn’t say anything, I just made a mental note. The next day, I went to the salon not in my own car, but in a brand-new Lamborghini.”

Cristiano Ronaldo Gifted His Barber Lamborghini: FALSE!
The story, which has racked up millions of views, looks professional, but taking a closer look reveals that it is entirely fabricated.
The “podcast” audio where Ronaldo appears to be speaking about the 50-euro haircuts is an AI-generated deepfake. Listening closely to the original viral versions, the cadence and tone don’t perfectly match Ronaldo’s natural speaking voice. Creators often use these AI tools to make fictional scripts sound like real interviews.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed person on Earth. The news of a gift of this magnitude and Ronaldo claiming about the same himself should come with a verified source. However, there is zero record of this event in any reputable archive, and Read can’t verify it from any official source.
The reason this rumor won’t die is that it aligns with Ronaldo’s real-life reputation for generosity. His actual philanthropic record is well-documented. In 2015, he bought an entire island for his agent, Jorge Mendes.
