Fadnavis attacks Uddhav Thackeray, BMC elections 2026

Political heat has increased in Mumbai BMC elections 2026. CM Fadnavis launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray. He appealed to the public to beware of vote bank politics and confusion and focus on the issues.

Maharashtra: The political heat has intensified in Maharashtra in view of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. All the major parties are continuously trying to attract public attention through rallies and statements. In the same sequence, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made a direct and sharp attack on Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in a public meeting organized in Amrit Nagar, Ghatkopar. This statement was given on January 10 in Mumbai.

In his speeches and interviews, Fadnavis not only raised questions on the policies of his opponents but also put forward BJP’s agenda and vote bank politics. The Chief Minister said that in a big metropolis like Mumbai, efforts are being made to confuse the public and the politics of some leaders is no longer clear.

Target on Uddhav and Raj Thackeray

Devendra Fadnavis said that Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray are continuously giving media interviews and blaming the government. On the other hand, their work or policy is not clear to the public. Fadnavis said that when leaders are in cities like Nashik, they talk about Mumbai, but when they come to Mumbai themselves, they do not discuss the problems and issues here.

Calling it a political contradiction, he said that it should be put before the public. Fadnavis stressed that the politics of such leaders can confuse the people of the city and lead to difficulty in taking right decisions in the elections.

Ashamed to speak the word ‘Hindu’ – Fadnavis

The Chief Minister particularly drew attention to the fact that in Nashik, Uddhav Thackeray had started the meeting with ‘my dear Hindu brothers and sisters’, but in Mumbai the same address was made with ‘my dear patriotic citizens’. Fadnavis raised the question whether there is shame in speaking the word ‘Hindu’ in Mumbai or whether it was not used for the vote bank of a particular class.

Calling it an example of vote bank politics, he said that some leaders are changing words and addresses for their political benefit. Fadnavis stressed that the public should avoid such games and illusions and use their votes.

Attention to the issues of the people of Mumbai

Fadnavis said that the problems of the people and the issues of development of the city should come to the fore in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. He alleged that the focus of some leaders is only on election rhetoric and vote bank. The Chief Minister said that it is necessary to discuss issues like development, security, water system, traffic and cleanliness in Mumbai.

He appealed to the public to vote keeping these issues in mind and not to be influenced by any political deceit. Fadnavis said that only public understanding and awareness can ensure true democracy and progress of the city.

political environment

Both BJP and Shiv Sena are playing major roles in BMC elections. Both the parties are showing their strength through rallies and media statements. Fadnavis clarified that the aim of BJP is not just to win the elections but to highlight the issues of the people and the problems of the city.
