Faf du Plessis’ Century Leads TSK to First Win of MLC 2026 Over Seattle Orcas

A brilliant century from Faf du Plessis has set up the Texas Super Kings’ first win of the MLC 2026 against Seattle Orcas at Dallas.

His unbeaten 113 runs off 52 deliveries have secured a 6-wicket victory to open their account in the MLC 2026 points table.

After being invited to bat first, Seattle Orcas’ Tim Seifert and Shayan Jahangir opened the innings while Wiaan Mulder opened the bowling attack.

The duo made an explosive start, scoring 57 runs in the power play. Both Seifert and Shayan Jahangir brought up their fifties as the duo forged a 191-run partnership for the first wicket.

Amshi de Silva brought the first breakthrough, dismissing Shayan Jahangir for 78 runs. His knock came off 47 deliveries, which included 3 sixes and 7 fours.

Shimron Hetmyer, who came to bat at no.3, joined Tim Seifert at the crease. On this occasion, Tim Seifert smashed his maiden MLC hundred off 64 deliveries and scored 104 runs before being dismissed by Adam Milne.

With Shimron Hetmyer (8*) and Marcus Stoinis (13*) at the crease, Seattle Orcas scored 220 runs in their 20-over innings.

Chasing a mammoth 221 run target, Texas Super Kings’ Faf du Plessis and Saiteja Mukkamalla opened the innings while Jasdeep Singh opened the bowling attack.

Jasdeep Singh opened the account, dismissing Saiteja for a golden duck. However, Faf du Plessis and Rilee Rossouw forged a partnership as TSK scored 89 runs in the powerplay.

Rossouw made a stunning cameo, scoring 21-ball 49 before being dismissed by Marcus Stoinis. Milind Kumar, who came to bat at No.4, joined Faf du Plessis.

In the meantime, du Plessis smashed his fifty as the side crossed the 100-run mark in the chase.

Ottneil Baartman and Gannon bagged the wickets of Milind Kumar (13) and Shubham Ranjane (10) respectively. Wiaan Mulder joined Faf du Plessis to complete the chase.

Faf du Plessis completed his century off 45 deliveries and continued to bat. Wiaan Mulder made a crucial contribution of 15-ball 31 runs as the side completed the chase in the 19th over.

Faf du Plessis remained unbeaten with 113 runs off 52 deliveries, and TSK secured a 6-wicket victory.
