Fake drug factory busted in Gaya, Tramadol worth Rs 5 crore seized
Bihar news: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police, taking major action against the interstate drugs network, has exposed a fake drug factory running in Gaya, Bihar. The gang’s master coordinator Arun (59) has been arrested in this case. Till now a total of 9 people have been arrested in this case. The case is registered under FIR number 273/25, Section 22 NDPS Act, Police Station Crime Branch. The action was taken by the team led by DCP (ANTF) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, under the supervision of ACP Satendra Mohan and Inspector Nitesh Kumar. Based on the information received from the accused Tanishq, who was arrested last week, the police reached Gaya, where SI Vikasdeep’s team caught Arun. Investigation revealed that he was running a factory for manufacturing medicines and injection vials without any license. The drug department team was also called to the spot.
What was recovered?
1,19,800 zinc tablets, 42,480 azithromycin tablets, 27 kg paracetamol powder, more than 5 kg illegal tramadol powder, 444 Dilona Aqua ampules, heavy machinery for manufacturing the drug. According to the police, the value of the seized tramadol in the international market is estimated to be more than Rs 5 crore.
This is how illegal business was run
The investigation revealed that this gang was illegally manufacturing opioids, psychotropic substances and counterfeit medicines and selling them in the market through fake medical stores and suppliers. The factory processed smuggled tramadol powder into tablets, which were sold at high prices as an alternative to heroin. The entire process from raw material procurement to manufacturing and supply was being conducted illegally. Police say that this network was busted after continuous technical surveillance, raids in several states, traveling thousands of kilometers and high-speed chase. Earlier, a fake pharma unit has also been caught in Patna. Till now two fake factories have been closed and 9 accused have been arrested.
Profile of the accused
Arun (59), is a resident of Gaya. In the greed of earning more profits in less time, he was engaged in manufacturing illegal drugs on a large scale. He, along with other members of the gang, used to procure raw materials and supply the finished goods to other states. At present, the Crime Branch team is busy searching for other absconding accused and the investigation is going on.
