Noida Police busted fake call centre, 4 arrested for cheating in the name of getting job in SpiceJet

If you are looking for an online job, then this news is very important for you. Noida Police has exposed a cyber fraud gang, which pretended to be representatives of SpiceJet and lured people into getting jobs and then duped them of money in the name of registration and processing fees.

Police station Phase-1, taking major action under ‘Operation Cyber ​​Vajra’, has exposed a fake call center that was cheating people in the name of providing them jobs in SpiceJet. Police have arrested four accused in this case from Sector-2.

What has been known so far in the case?

  • During police interrogation, the accused told that they used to collect data of people looking for jobs from Quicker.com and other websites. After this, he used to call, pretending to be a representative of SpiceJet company and pretending to get a job. Whenever a person fell in love with them, a fake job offer letter was sent in his name. After this, thousands of rupees were deposited in fake bank accounts (mule accounts) in the name of registration fees and processing fees.
  • After the fraud, the accused used to destroy the used SIM cards and when needed, they used to lure poor or unknown people and get new SIM cards in their name.
  • 8 mobile phones, one laptop, 9 debit cards, 13 SIM cards, three bank passbooks (Mule accounts) and four UPI sound boxes have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
  • The arrested accused have been identified as Sudesh Singh, Brijesh Bhadauria, Arjun and Sandeep Kumar Tiwari.
  • According to the police, about 159 suspicious bank accounts were identified under ‘Operation Cyber ​​Vajra’ at the police station Phase-1 level. Out of these, this fake call center was exposed during the investigation of about 2500 mobile numbers in 19 red zones and complaints registered on the NCRP portal.
  • Police say that more than 20 complaints related to cyber fraud in the name of providing jobs have been registered against the accused on the NCRP portal from different states.
  • Initial investigation has revealed that this gang has committed cyber fraud worth crores of rupees from people.
  • The police are now investigating other people associated with the gang and the network of the defrauded amount.
  • The police have appealed to the people to be cautious of people asking for registration fee or processing fee in the name of job in any company and immediately report any suspicious call or offer on the cyber helpline or NCRP portal.
