International Shooter Jaspal Rana Passed Away: India’s former famous international shooter Jaspal Rana is no more with us. He died at the age of 49 in Max Hospital, Delhi. His sudden departure from this world has created a wave of mourning in the entire Indian sports world. After retiring from international competitions, he was continuously improving the emerging talents as a coach.

According to the information received, Jaspal Rana was returning to India via an air flight from Munich city of Germany. During this air journey, his health suddenly started deteriorating and he felt very uncomfortable. As soon as the flight landed at Delhi airport, he was immediately admitted to Max Hospital in Saket for treatment. Unfortunately, this great and legendary player breathed his last this morning while undergoing treatment at Max Hospital.

Won medals in Asian and Commonwealth

As a great player, he had won a total of 8 major medals including 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze in the Asian Games. Apart from this, he also won 15 medals including 9 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze in the Commonwealth Games with his accurate aim. For his huge and outstanding contribution to sports, he was honored with India’s prestigious Padmashree award in the year 2002. He also brought honor to the entire country by winning the gold medal for India in the World Shooting Championship.

Manu Bhaker should win Olympic medal

Jaspal Rana was the head coach of Manu Bhaker, the brilliant and young shooter who won double medal in Paris Olympics. Along with being the coach of the junior team, he was also doing excellent work for the country as a high performance trainer. He was officially made India’s new high performance coach in the 25 meter pistol event from February 2025. Apart from this, he was continuously providing excellent and correct guidance to the new and young sports talents.

Veteran shooter Jaspal Rana was originally from Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and was a big sports hero of the country. His sudden demise at the young age of just 49 is an irreparable and huge loss for Indian sports.
