Mexican wrestling legend Rey Mysterio Sr. has died at the age of 66. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the wrestling world over the demise of this legend. Rey Mysterio Sr. was the uncle of WWE star Rey Mysterio Jr. He first came to prominence in a division of Lucha Libre in Mexico. Rey Mysterio Sr. held titles with many organizations including the World Wrestling Association and Lucha Libre AAA World Wide.
Mysterio Sr., like his nephew, was a masked wrestler and started his career in 1976. Mysterio Sr. was born in Tijuana, Mexico in 1955 and started his career in boxing before turning to wrestling. Mysterio Sr.'s death comes just weeks after the death of Rey Mysterio's father Robert Gutierrez.
