To celebrate the release of Balakrishna's film 'Daku Maharaj', fans sacrificed 'goats', police arrested

Tirupati : Andhra Pradesh Police has arrested 5 people for sacrificing a sheep in a cinema hall here before the screening of the film 'Daku Maharaj' on January 12. Today on Saturday, the police informed that while acting on the complaint sent through email by 'People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA), the police arrested Shankaraiya, Ramesh, Suresh Reddy, Prasad and Mukesh Babu. Actor N, who played the lead role in the film Sacrifice of Sheep and its Blood. Arrested for putting it on Balakrishna's poster.

Please note that popular Tollywood actor and Hindupur MLA Balkrishna is a relative of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Tirupati East sub-divisional police officer Venkat Narayan said, “An email had come from PETA. He had complained to the SP through email. On the same day i.e. January 16, we investigated and registered a case at Tirupati East police station.”

Venkat Narayan also said that the police are also searching for other people who are suspected to be involved in this animal sacrifice. A video of this incident of animal sacrifice was widely circulated on social media. It is seen that when one of the accused picked up a sickle to decapitate a sheep, hundreds of spectators and moviegoers started celebrating and taking pictures of the act on their mobile phones.

According to the police on the matter, the sheep was sacrificed around 3 am on January 12, when the Balakrishna starrer film was released on the occasion of Sankranti festival. Narayan said that the accused were granted bail immediately.
