Fan stage protest against drinking water shortage in IND vs NZ Test in Pune

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the richest cricket board in the world. Still, it has often failed to provide basic facilities to the fans during international international matches in India. Although the state bodies conduct the matches, the apex body of Indian cricket has the responsibility of checking if the arrangements are spot on.

After facing massive flak in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur due to the condition of the stands and the lack of proper ground equipment, the BCCI has learned nothing. In the ongoing second Test between India and New Zealand in Pune, the fans are staging a protest against the shortage of drinking water in the city’s scorching heat.

Subhayan Chakraborty, who works for RevSportz, posted a video to show the protest of the fans.

After the protest, the local authorities swung into action and provided water bottles to the fans.

Meanwhile, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first in the second game. The visitors were 115/2 at the time of writing, with Devon Conway amassing a fifty. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets.

Earlier, India dropped KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj from the playing XI. Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Akash Deep were added to the side.
