‘Along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli should also announce his retirement…’, a blood-boiling statement from Pakistan.
Rohit Sharma Virat Kohli: A 3-match ODI series is being played between India vs England. During the second match played in Cardiff, a report came out which surprised everyone. Reports claimed that the third ODI of the series played against England at Lord’s could prove to be Rohit’s last match. But then BCCI Secretary gave a statement that this is not right and Lord’s match will not be Rohit’s last ODI. Now former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has also reacted to the issue of Rohit Sharma’s retirement and he has told Rohit as well as Virat to retire.
Statement from Pakistan regarding Rohit Sharma
The retirement of Indian star cricketer Rohit Sharma is now being discussed in Pakistan also. Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has reacted on this issue while talking on his YouTube channel. He believes that Rohit Sharma should continue playing as long as his performance deserves a place in the team. They should not be judged on the basis of recent poor results.
Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali said in a warning tone, “If he is performing consistently then he should keep playing. At this point, if you want to judge him only on the basis of England’s two-match performance or Gautam Gambhir’s likes and dislikes, then you should also keep Virat Kohli in mind.”
Virat Kohli also talked about retirement
Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket in the year 2025 and only after that Virat Kohli also said goodbye to Test cricket. In such a situation, now Basit Ali feels that if Rohit wants to retire, then Virat Kohli can also announce his retirement.
Basit Ali further said, “If today it is Rohit’s turn then next time it could be Virat’s too. Looking at the way Virat had retired from Tests, there is every possibility that both these players may announce their retirement together at Lord’s.”
