Lucknow, 23 December. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while encouraging the farmers on Kisan Samman Diwas, said that when they sweat regardless of cold and heat and absorb the cold in their bones and share the flow of energy with Mother Earth, then farming spits out gold in the form of food production.
The Chief Minister offered flowers at the statue of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh located in the Vidhan Bhavan premises on his birthday. Yogi gave keys of tractors to farmers on ‘Kisan Samman Diwas’. Also honored farmers, scientists, FPOs etc. The Chief Minister inaugurated the plot allotment process of Chaudhary Charan Singh Seed Park Attari Lucknow by pressing the button.
Yogi said that farmers have made progress in Uttar Pradesh due to their hard work. When Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country in 2014, for the first time farmers also became a part of the government’s agenda. The earth is our mother and we all are its sons, hence it is the responsibility of the son that when the mother is sick or in trouble, the son helps her out of trouble. For the first time, through Soil Health Card, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made everyone aware about the health of Mother Earth in 2014.
He said that Annadata farmers were linked to the Prime Minister Agricultural Insurance Scheme, then one by one the facilities of the farmers were increased, from the Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, guarantee of MSP or from seed to market. Yogi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi increased the respect of farmers by giving ‘Bharat Ratna’ to the messiah of farmers, former Prime Minister and former Chief Minister of the state Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Implemented agricultural loan redemption program for small and marginal farmers. Earlier farmers were not a part of any scheme of the government, but today farmers are getting the benefits of every scheme of the government. Today the middleman does not decide the price of farmers’ crops. He said that if the farmer gets a good price for his crop in the market then it is fine otherwise the government will buy it. Within UP, the production of crops like paddy, wheat, gram, mustard, millet, maize etc. has increased manifold and the cost has reduced. This is the basis of farmers’ prosperity.
In 8 years, approximately Rs 75 thousand crore more money has been deposited in the accounts of the farmers than the amount of sugarcane price which was not paid to the farmers. Recently the price of sugarcane has been increased. The price of early sugarcane has been fixed at Rs 400 per quintal in the crushing season 2025-26. Yogi said that farmers in the state have moved towards prosperity. If farmers pay attention to new technology and good quality seeds, they are bringing glory to Uttar Pradesh by producing good production at low cost.
