FASTag Annual Pass: Good news for those living within 20 KM radius! You will get unlimited toll pass for just Rs 350

FASTag Annual Pass: A major change may soon be seen in the toll tax system. The Central Government is working on a new scheme which will provide relief to the drivers from the trouble of repeatedly stopping at toll plazas and paying. Under this proposed system, the facility of digital monthly and annual passes can be started for the local people living around the toll plaza.

To make toll system smooth and seamless

In this new system, this pass will be linked to Fastag, so that the drivers will not need to stop at the toll every time and they will be able to cross the toll easily. The aim of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is to make the toll system completely smooth and seamless. According to officials, this facility is likely to be implemented by next month.

Identification of owners through Aadhaar number

Under the scheme, this digital pass will be available to those people who live within a radius of about 20 kilometers of any toll plaza and have private (non-commercial) vehicles. Vehicle owners will be identified through Aadhaar number and after this a digital pass will be issued, which will be directly linked to Fastag.

Unlimited toll crossing facility

With this, local drivers will be able to pass through the toll plaza without stopping. Earlier, the price of such monthly pass was around Rs 350, which provided the facility of unlimited toll crossing in a month. Now it will be converted into digital form and linked to Fastag.

Vehicles can be identified immediately

The government believes that this change will significantly reduce the congestion and irregularities at toll plazas. Especially, there will be a ban on those cases where some people used to cross the toll without a pass, claiming to be local residents. In the new system, such vehicles can be identified immediately and e-notice can also be sent.

However, the final decision regarding the price of the new digital pass has not been taken yet, but it is expected that it will be as affordable as the old system.
