The new FASTag annual pass scheme has been launched for the public by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). The main objective of this scheme is to provide relief to the drivers from the expenses incurred at toll plazas.
FAQ details:
• Launch date: 15 August 2025
• Price: Only ₹3,000
• Validity: 1 year or 200 trips (whichever is earlier)
• Eligibility: Only for non-commercial private vehicles (car/jeep/van)
• Coverage: Valid on National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) fee plazas. On state highways or local authority-run plazas, normal FASTag charges will be applicable.
• Purchase Mode: Available only through HighwayYatra mobile application and NHAI website after eligibility verification.
Key Notes:
• Existing FASTag holders do not need to purchase a new FASTag if they meet the eligibility requirements.
• FASTag must be properly installed on the windshield of the registered vehicle.
• Not applicable for commercial vehicles – If misused, it will be disabled immediately.
• Users can re-purchase the Annual Pass after completing 200 trips, even if the one year period is not completed.
