According to the police, 49-year-old Manvendra Singh was a liquor businessman and owner of a pathology lab. He was shot dead on the morning of 20 February. After that the body was cut into several pieces and the remains were put in a blue drum. The police arrested the accused son. During interrogation he also confessed to his crime. The victim’s torso and head were found inside the drum, while the accused threw his arms and legs elsewhere to hide his crime.

This incident reminded of the massacre that took place in Meerut, in which a woman along with her lover killed her husband and then cut the body into pieces and packed it in a blue drum. The Lucknow incident comes almost a year after the Meerut massacre in March 2025, when the blue plastic drums became nationally infamous. In this murder case, 29-year-old merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput was murdered by his wife Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla. In the Meerut case, the criminals cut the body into 15 pieces, placed them in a large blue drum and sealed it with wet cement to hide the smell and delay the search.

Preparations started to murder father after Meerut case

According to police sources, the son often quarreled with his father and was planning to kill him for almost a year after reading about the Meerut case on social media. The incident in Lucknow was rooted in a dispute over the father pressurizing his son to appear for NEET exam instead of B.Com; However, the son disagreed with this. This information has been given by Central Police Deputy Commissioner Vikrant Veer. DCP said, “49-year-old Manvendra Singh was missing for three days, the complaint of which was lodged by his son. In this case, the police arrested 21-year-old Akshat Singh, because his contradictory statements revealed the conspiracy.”

He further told that this incident happened in his three-storey house located in Ashiana Sector L. Where forensic teams are collecting evidence. According to the police, the murder took place on February 20 at around 4:30 am. Police said in a statement, “After a heated argument with Manvendra, Akshat snatched his father’s licensed rifle and opened fire, killing him on the spot.” This incident happened in front of Akshat’s younger sister. Who currently studies in 11th class. It is alleged that he had threatened his sister that if she told anyone about this, he would kill her. The DCP said, “The sister saw the entire incident, but she was silenced by threats.”

False story of disappearance after murder

Manvendra, owner of Vardhman Pathology Lab in Kakori and involved in liquor business, was last seen that morning. After the death of his father, son Akshat told a false story to the police. She told the police that her father woke her up at 6 in the morning and said that he was going to Delhi and would return by noon. But the family became worried as all three mobile numbers of Manvendra were switched off.

Ashiana’s SHO Kshatrapal said, “To destroy the evidence, Akshat dragged the body from the third floor to an empty room in the basement. There he cut the body into pieces using household tools. He loaded some parts in his car and took them to a deserted area called Sadrauna and dumped them.” The DCP said, “The torso and head were stuffed in a blue plastic drum and hidden in the same room. Akshat had planned to dispose of it later, but he was caught before that.”

Son arrested on Monday evening

Police detained Akshat on Monday evening, raided his house and recovered a drum containing decomposed remains. Forensic experts are examining blood stains in the car and the house, while teams are conducting a search operation in Sadrauna in search of the missing parts. When Akshat cleaned the car, his aunt became suspicious and asked him about it, but he avoided the matter.

On Monday, when the police took Akshat into custody and interrogated him strictly, he confessed to the murder of his father. Let us tell you that Manvendra’s family is a resident of Jalaun district. Manvendra’s father is a retired officer of Uttar Pradesh Police. Manvendra’s wife passed away nine years ago.
