Fear of attack on ministers and MLAs during the budget session of the Assembly, Jharkhand Police issues alert
Ranchi: Ministers and MLAs may be targeted by criminals or Maoists during the budget session of Jharkhand Assembly. The police headquarters has issued an alert in view of the session running from February 18 to March 19. SSP-SP of all the districts have been instructed to strengthen security, intensify patrolling and pay special attention to sensitive routes so that any untoward incident can be avoided.

On behalf of the Police Headquarters, a letter has been sent to all the Senior Superintendents of Police and Superintendents of Police of the state saying that ministers and MLAs from various districts of the state will reach Ranchi on 17th and 18th February to participate in the budget session. Apart from this, there will also be a possibility of their traveling to their respective assembly constituencies during the break between sessions.
Keeping in mind the militant incidents that have taken place in the past, it is feared that Naxalite organizations may target public representatives on sensitive routes. In view of this, the Police Headquarters has declared a total of 24 major roads and valley areas of the state as extremely sensitive and instructions have been given to exercise extra vigilance in these areas.

Special instructions regarding security of public representatives
It has been said in the instructions that during the visit of ministers and MLAs, security of their convoy, advance checking of routes, regular patrolling and deployment of additional forces at necessary places should be ensured, so that any untoward incident can be prevented.
These routes and valley areas were declared sensitive
Ranchi-Bundu-Tamar Road: Taimara Valley
Ranchi–Hazaribagh–Koderma route: Chutupalu, Charhi, National Park and Tilaiya Valley area.
Hazaribagh-Giridih Road: Tati Jharia, Vishnugarh and Giridih Valley
Ranchi-Simdega-Gumla route: Kolebira forest area
Khunti-Chaibasa Road: Bandgaon Forest and Valley
Ranchi-Latehar-Palamu route: Amjharia, Tudamu and Manika valley.
Hazaribagh-Chatra Road: Simaria and Chatra Jungle Valley
Palamu area: Wild areas of Daltonganj-Chhattarpur-Hariharganj road.
Netarhat Route: Betla, Mahuadod and Garu Valley
Chatra-Katkamasandi route
Chauparan-Barhi-Bagodar route
Chanho-Khalari Marg
Seraikela-Kharsawan-Kuchai road and Kandra-Chauka road
Police Headquarters has clarified that during the period of Jharkhand Assembly Budget session, special surveillance on all sensitive routes, frequent vehicle checking, deployment of patrol teams and prompt action based on intelligence inputs will be ensured so that peace and law and order are maintained in the state.
