Female sarpanch took bribe with husband to sign well construction bill, Lokayukta police arrested red handed
Lokayukta Police Gwalior has arrested a woman sarpanch along with her husband for taking bribe. Both of them were taking a bribe of Rs 20 thousand in exchange of passing the bill of a farmer after the construction of a well approved under Kapildhara scheme in his field.
While giving information, Lokayukta Police Gwalior SP Niranjan Sharma said that the village Jungipur Farmer Rahul Singh Yadav, resident of Tehsil Pichor district Shivpuri, had given a complaint application in which he had accused the village sarpanch and her husband of demanding bribe..
Rs 25000/- bribe demanded for signing the bill
Complainant Rahul Singh told A bribe of Rs 25,000 is being demanded by Sarpanch Keshavati and her husband Khemchand in lieu of signing the bill for payment of material for the well construction after the construction of a well (well) approved under Kapildhara scheme in her father’s farm in village Jungipur.
Sarpanch and husband arrested as soon as they received bribe
After receiving the complaint application, it was verified in which it was found true that bribe was demanded, after getting the proof of bribe being demanded, Gwalior Lokayukta Police formed a team and sent it to Shivpuri, the trap team of Lokayukta Police sent the complainant Rahul Singh to the house of Sarpanch Keshwati and as soon as he gave him the bribe amount of Rs 20 thousand, the team caught him.. Lokayukta police have registered a case against both of them under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and taken them under investigation..
