Ferrari 849 Testarossa launched in India: Italian marque holds its first national premiere in Mumbai
Ferrari has officially taken the wraps off the 849 Testarossa in India, with the Italian carmaker choosing Mumbai for what is the brand’s first-ever national premiere in the country.
The reveal took place at the Jio World Convention Centre on 15 March 2026, drawing journalists, clients and enthusiasts for what turned out to be quite the occasion. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna and Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer Enrico Galliera were both present, walking the room through the engineering thinking and design direction behind the new flagship.
The event was split across two halves. Media got an in-depth technical presentation during the day, while the evening turned into an exclusive gala dinner for Ferrari clients and invited guests — over 500 in attendance — where the 849 Testarossa was officially revealed to the Ferrari faithful.
Vigna, speaking at the event, drew a direct line between India’s entrepreneurial energy and Ferrari’s own ethos of passion and innovation. The choice of India for a dedicated national premiere is itself a statement — the brand has been quietly watching this market mature, and it appears confident enough now to put serious weight behind it.
Ferrari currently has dealerships in Mumbai and New Delhi, with a service facility in Bengaluru rounding out its India footprint. Whether that network expands alongside the 849 Testarossa’s arrival remains to be seen, but for a marque that guards its exclusivity carefully, the fact that it flew its top brass to Mumbai says plenty about where India sits in its global priorities.
