Under this agreement, the company will broadcast a total of 39 FIFA events in India including FIFA World Cup 2026, FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and FIFA World Cup 2030. This deal will be in force from 2026 to 2034 and Indian viewers will get the opportunity to watch live telecasts of the world’s biggest football events.

FIFA World Cup coverage will start in India from June 2026

The FIFA World Cup is to be organized from June 11 to July 19, 2026, jointly hosted by America, Canada and Mexico. This mega tournament in India will be telecast on Zee Group’s new sports network Unite8 Sports. At the same time, digital viewers will be able to enjoy the matches live through Zee5. In addition to live matches, viewers will also be provided with highlights, expert analysis, special feature shows and FIFA-related documentary content during the tournament.

Big bet on football in broadcasting market

This deal comes at a time when Zee Group is moving rapidly towards strengthening its presence in the field of sports broadcasting. According to reports, FIFA was looking for a broadcaster for its broadcast rights in India for a long time. Many broadcasters were not showing interest in it due to the high price and the matches being held late at night in Indian time. Despite this, Ji saw this opportunity as a big investment and expressed confidence in the growing Indian football audience.
