Mikel Oyarzabal emerged as the hero from Spain. With the help of his two goals, title contenders Spain defeated Austria 3-0 and won a match in the knockout round of the World Cup football for the first time since becoming champions in 2010.
Player Oyarzabal scored goals in the 36th and 89th minutes. Meanwhile, Pedro Porro scored in the 66th minute as Spain produced their most aggressive and impressive performance so far in the ongoing tournament. He maintained complete control of the ball and displayed a good example of his aggressive and artistic play.
The special thing is that not a single goal has been scored against Spain in the current World Cup. The Austrian team could not take even a single shot on goal. In this way, Spain’s goalkeeper Unai Simon was successful in achieving a clean sheet (not conceding any goals in the match) for the fourth consecutive match.
Spanish player Oyarzabal said after the match, “I am happy that I helped the team reach the next round. Now we have to take some rest and get ready for the next match. It was a difficult match. We knew it would be difficult to play against a strong team, but we had a very good day and played a good match.”
