Amidst the ongoing war with Iran, a very strict and shocking statement by US President Donald Trump has come to light. After Iran going on the backfoot, Trump has now lashed out at his own allies. He has clearly said that now the countries of the world will have to take responsibility for their own security and needs, America will not always stand behind them.
Trump bluntly: Take oil from us or fight yourself
Trump has given blunt advice to his allies. The first advice is for those countries which are facing shortage of jet fuel due to tension in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said that if they want oil, they can buy it from America, because America has enough oil reserves.
Taking the name of Britain in particular, he taunted that Britain did not support military action against Iran, but today it is crying about the shortage of jet fuel. Giving second advice, Trump said that these countries should show courage and if necessary, go to the Strait of Hormuz and gain control themselves. In Trump’s words, “You have to learn to fight yourself, America will not be with you forever.”
What does Trump’s tough stance mean?
The deep diplomatic meaning of this statement of Trump is being extracted. This simply means that whether it is a matter of security or oil supply, now the allied countries will have to become self-reliant. Trump indicated that America can now distance itself from those countries which did not stand with America in difficult times. He also claimed that Iran had been weakened to a great extent and the most difficult phase of the war had passed. Now other countries should take charge of the front.
France on target: Trump reminded old accounts
Trump’s displeasure was not limited to Britain only, he also took on France. Trump alleged that France did not allow American military planes going to Israel to use its airspace. Terming it a ‘bad attitude’, Trump warned that America will always remember this.
Horrible picture of the war: losses so far
This ongoing war in the Middle East has caused huge devastation so far. According to statistics, more than 3,000 people have lost their lives in this war. According to Iran’s deputy health minister, more than 1,900 Iranian civilians have been killed so far in Israeli and US strikes. Whereas in Lebanon this figure is beyond 1,200. 19 people have died in Israel, while 13 American soldiers have also been killed so far during the war.
