Film about Bitcoin founder in development, Sophia Banks to direct
Satoshi Nakamoto, purported to be the creator of Bitcoin, is the subject of an upcoming feature film from director Sophia Banks. It is a joint venture between production houses Getaway Entertainment, David O Sacks Productions, and Mark Goffman. Andrew O’Hagan’s London Review of Books article titled ‘The Satoshi Affair’ serves as the inspiration for the film.
Sacks and his co-producer Daniel Brunt acquired the exclusive right to adapt the article into a film before taking it to their frequent collaborator Goffman. Producer Goffman is adapting it for the screen. Sacks compared the story to Mark Zuckerberg’s from The Social Network and called it an investigation into the founder of the revolutionary cryptocurrency variant.
The feature film will delve into the events that made O’Hagan look into the Bitcoin founder and his quest to unveil the person’s real identity.
Banks is known as the director of Black Sitethe 2022 film that stars Michelle Monaghan, Jai Courtney, and Jason Clarke, among others.
