Mumbai. Before attacking film actor Saif Ali Khan, the absconding accused had demanded extortion of Rs 1 crore from Saif's maid. Saif's maid Lima has lodged an FIR in this case at Hill Line Police Station in Bandra. The Mumbai Police team is identifying the absconding accused and is actively searching for the accused.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam said that before the attack, the accused had demanded Rs 1 crore from the maid. There was a heated discussion between the maid and the accused regarding this matter. After this Saif Ali Khan came out of his bedroom and the accused along with the maid attacked Saif and ran away. His picture has been captured in CCTV. Many cases have already been registered against the accused, the matter is being thoroughly investigated.
It is noteworthy that the accused had attacked Saif with a knife six times before absconding. Due to which his spinal cord got injured and he became drenched in blood. After his car was delayed following the incident, his son Ibrahim and wife Kareena took him in an auto-rickshaw to Lilavati Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. As soon as the information about this incident was received, Mumbai Police handed over the investigation of the case to the Crime Branch along with Mumbai Police. Due to this, Crime Branch's Joint Commissioner of Police Datta Nalawade and Encounter Specialist Senior Police Inspector Daya Nayak are leading the investigation of the case. In this case, the police is interrogating the architects, contractors and laborers doing renovation work in Saif's house. Along with this, police is also interrogating Saif Ali Khan's servants.
