Finance Ministry released new data on UPI, know this special thing about online transactions
New Delhi: The Finance Ministry informed on Saturday that Unified Payment Interface (UPI) has done more than 15,547 crore transactions worth Rs 223 lakh crore from January to November this year. The Finance Ministry shared data related to UPI regarding the digital payment revolution through a post from its official X handle.
UPI transaction record
After reaching a record high of 16.58 billion transactions and Rs 23.50 lakh crore in October 2024, the number of UPI transactions in November surged to 15.48 billion, up 38 per cent year-on-year, with value up 24 per cent year-on-year. More than 750 million UPI credit card transactions worth Rs 63,825.8 crore were made from April to October this year. The number of transactions through UPI RuPay credit cards in FY 2024 was 362.8 million, with a total value of Rs 33,439.24 crore. The government launched the facility of UPI transactions on RuPay credit cards in September 2022. Users using RuPay credit card can do their transactions through the card with the help of UPI app.
October and November figures
Earlier, figures for October and November were also released by the government regarding the success of UPI. UPI was launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in 2016.
