Finland the happiest country in the world for the ninth consecutive year

Desk : Finland has achieved the distinction of becoming the country with the happiest population in the world for the ninth consecutive year. The World Happiness Report was released on Thursday, in which Finland again came out on top. In this report, Finland has been described as the best country in the world in terms of happiness. According to the report, this success of the Nordic countries has continued, and this time too Finland has strengthened its position by remaining at the top position.

Iceland, Denmark and Sweden are also included in the top five countries of the World Happiness Report. The well-being of these countries continues to improve. Additionally, Costa Rica, at number four, has made its way into the top five, a feat that is unprecedented for any country other than the Nordic countries.

Norway, Netherlands, Israel, Luxembourg and Switzerland are ranked sixth to tenth respectively in the ranking. The position of Germany has also improved, whereas last year it was at number 22, this time it has reached number 17. Austria has fallen two places to 19th, while the US has improved marginally from 24 to 23.

However, according to the ranking of 147 countries in the report, Afghanistan is at the lowest position i.e. 147th. India’s position in South Asia has also been disappointing and India is at 116th position. Pakistan is at 104th position, while Bangladesh is at 127th position. Apart from this, Sri Lanka is at 134th, Nepal at 99th and Iran at 97th.

International Day of Happiness is celebrated on 20 March, and this report is released on this occasion. The day serves to raise awareness to improve the well-being and quality of life of people around the world.
