Punjab SIT's big revelation, Lawrence gave interview in Jaipur Central Jail, not Bathinda

Jaipur : A big revelation has come to light in the case of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi giving an interview from jail. In this case, Punjab Police had constituted SIT, whose investigation report has revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi had given an interview to a private channel not from the jail of Punjab but from the jail of Jaipur. In this case, the SIT constituted by Punjab Police has submitted its report to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Now an FIR has been registered in Lalkothi police station of Jaipur regarding this matter.

Let us tell you that an interview of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was broadcast on a private news channel in March last year. There was a huge uproar after this interview came on TV. Questions were raised about the Punjab Police and their jail security arrangements. When this interview aired, Lawrence was lodged in Bathinda jail in Punjab. Questions were also raised on Jaipur Police on this matter because Jaipur Police had also taken Lawrence to Jaipur for questioning and kept him in Jaipur Central Jail.

After the gangster's interview was telecast on TV, the then Jaipur Police Commissioner Anand Srivastava had claimed that Bishnoi had not given any interview while he was in Jaipur. He had also said that when the interview was aired, gangster Bishnoi was in Bathinda jail. Then Punjab Police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate this matter. Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph told PTI that an FIR has been registered in the case in Jaipur following the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Regarding this, Deputy Commissioner of Police-Jaipur (East) Tejaswini Gautam said that the SIT of Punjab Police found in the investigation that Bishnoi was in Jaipur jail at the time of the interview. Jaipur Central Jail comes under the jurisdiction of Lalkothi police station, hence this case has been registered here. Gandhi Nagar Assistant Police Commissioner Narayan Kumar Bajiya said that this case has been registered on Friday. He said that the matter will be investigated and further action will be taken based on the facts revealed.
